A bimble around Whixall Moss

A very lovely large nature reserve for a day off boating today. Took a leisurely walk around the trails catching what wildlife spots we could, some were definitely too quick for our cameras. Its an interesting place with a history of being a peat extraction site and an old military training ground. It’s now the third largest and one of the most southerly lowland raised bog in Britain.
Here’s some pictures from our day:

But first, a lovely reminder that i was crossing the border into Wales!
